THE DIRECTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA(DGN) FINALLY HELD ITS TENSION –SOAKED ELECTION OVER THE WEEKEND WITH LEADING MOVIE DIRECTOR ANDY AMENECHI ,EMERGING THE OVERALL WINNER WITH 41 VOTES.HE DEFEATED THE TRIO OF FRED AMATA,TECO BENSON AND DICKSON IROEGBU,WHO SCORED 27,3 AND 2 VOTES RESPECTIVELY.PATIENCE OGRE,ALSO WON THE POST OF THE VICE PRESIDENT,WHILE ELIEL OTOTE EMERGED NATIONAL SECRETARY WITH CHIMA OKEREKE RETURING UNOPPOSED AS THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
THE FRANCIS ONWOCHEI LED ELECTORAL BODY WHILE ANNOUCING AMENECHI AND OTHER AS THE WINNERS SAID THE ELECTIONS WAS FREE AND FAIR
SURPRISINGLY,OUT OF THE OVER 240 REGISTERED MEMBERS OF THE GUILD ,ONLY 74 MEMBERS WERE ADJUDGED FINANCIALLY UP TO DATE AND ELIGIBLE TO VOTE.
MEANWHILE IN HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH,OVER WHELMED AMENECHI PROMISED TO MOVE THE GUILD TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH SEVERALS LAUDABLE PROJECTS AND INITIATIVE
